Student UAE Residence VISA Guidelines with Terms & Conditions

•  It is mandatory for all students to have a valid U.A.E. residence visa to study at BITS, PILANI-DUBAI (BPD).

•  If a parent cannot sponsor the student or if the student is from another country, then BPD can facilitate U.A.E. Student Residence Visa ( visa ) through Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) at Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) subject to the submission of documents given below, rules & regulations of BPD and Government of Dubai. Thus, DKV is the visa sponsor since they are providing the visa to the students. BPD only co-ordinates between DKV and Students.

•  The UAE student residence visa is provided by Govt. of UAE is facilitated by BPD for the admitted students on an yearly basis for the purpose of education only and students are not permitted to work under visa facilitated by BPD .

•  It is mandatory that the documents as given below should be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance or the date fixed by the Administration or Admission Department as the processing time to receive the visa will take a minimum of 2 - 3 weeks. The Institution is not responsible for any action of Immigration Dept of U.A.E. regarding visa status.

•  The subsequent year visa renewal is subject to the submission of necessary required documents as per rules and regulations of BPD & Government of UAE . Student visas are governed by rules of regulations of Department of Naturalization & Residency Dubai (DNRD), Govt. of UAE & Ministry of Health, Govt. of UAE. BPD is not in any way responsible for any rejection of visa at the time of admission or during the duration of the programme including issue / renewal of the visa.

•  Student / Parent should note that the rules & regulations of DNRD / Ministry of Health may change from time to time & the visa will be subject to same.

•  Students are required to undergo a medical examination in the specified government hospitals after landing in UAE, before the residence visa is stamped on their passport. The medical examination and the related process usually takes 6 – 9 weeks. If any student is declared medically unfit after the above mentioned process, his residence visa will not be stamped and the student will be required to leave the country. The same applies to renewal of visa annually.

•  After the visa stamping on the passport, student can travel outside UAE any number of times with the prior approval of the Institute.

•  Student should not stay outside UAE for more than 180 days continuously after the visa is stamped on the passport.

•  For visa renewal, the student is responsible for paying any visa and service related charges and fines in case of invalid documents and late submission of valid documents after the date fixed by the Institute. The Institution is not responsible for any visa related charges and fines due to the delayed and / or invalid document submitted by the student.

•  The student is required to pay Dhs.2100/-* for fresh visa & related services fee. In the event of the student not joining the program after all formalities, the amount paid towards fresh visa & related services is non refundable.

•  In case of students, who are already residing in U.A.E. under their parent visa sponsorship or others and wish to come under visa facilitated by the Institute with in-country & local amendment should pay Dhs.3800/-* towards fresh visa stamping and related services fee. They are also required to submit original visa cancellation paper and passport along with all other documents.

•  For subsequent year visa renewal, student should pay Dhs.1500/-* per year as visa renewal and related services fee.

•  The visa renewal and related services fee should be paid along with the 2 nd installment tuition fee of the 2 nd semester of each year for the subsequent year visa renewal.

•  After completion of the program and / or before leaving the Institution the student should legally cancel their visa by paying the visa cancellation fee* as indicated by Administration Department of BPD along with the original passport. Visa cancellation is applicable even to the student who have stayed outside the U.A.E. for more than 180 days continuously. Only the visa sponsor can cancel the visa. Failure to do so will result in serious consequences as per Institute and U.A.E. rules & regulations.

•  All the fees as mentioned above should be paid by Cash at the cash counter of BPD or Cheque / DD in favour of “ETA – NET ”.

•  Breaching the laws of U.A.E. by the student may even lead to deportation, for which BPD is not responsible and the student should bear all the related expenses.

•  Student should abide by the rules and regulation of the Institute, DKV, DIAC, Immigration and Government of U.A.E.

* The fresh visa, renewal, cancellation & related services fee are subject to change as per rules and regulations of the Institute, DKV, DIAC, Immigration and Government of U.A.E. All the above fee amount are indicative only.

Documents required for new UAE Student Residence Visa

•  Clear photo copy of the Passport with the validity of 7 months - 2 Copies

•  Photo copy of 12 th mark sheet / Bachelor's Degree # - 2 Copies

•  Passport Size Photos - 10 Nos.

•  Stamp size Photos - 4 Nos.

•  Bank Statement for Dhs.30,000/- or equivalent as per the DKV guidelines - 2 Copies

•  Student Enrolment Contract duly signed by the student

•  Original tuition and visa fee receipts

# If a student is above the age of 30, he / she is required to submit his / her Degree certificate attested by the UAE Embassy.
