1. Is TOEFL score required for all the students for admission to BITS, Pilani -Dubai this academic year?
No! The TOEFL test is not required for students who have completed their high school from English medium schools. Only students from Non-English medium schools must do the TOEFL and secure the required score to be eligible to apply for admission.
Visa Related Queries
1. Will a student residence visa be provided by the Institute? What is the cost of the same?
Yes, Visa will be facilitated through the Institute . It will be a student residence visa of one year duration and renewed annually. The initial fee is Dhs.2100/- each and the annual renewal will cost Dhs.1500/-. The visa fee is subject to change based on UAE Government laws.
2. What are the documents required from the student for applying for the visa?
The documents required from the student for Visa are Clear photo copy of the Passport, Photo Copy of 12th Standard or Equivalent Mark Sheet, 10 Passport Size Photos, 4 Stamp size Photos, Institution's Visa Contract* duly signed, Dubai Knowledge Village visa contract* duly signed, Visa fee of Dhs 2100/- (by Cash or Cheque / DD in favour of "ETA - NET") for new student residence visa valid for one year and Bank Statement for Dhs.30,000/- or equivalent currency from the Parent./Student/Guardian as per the enclosed Knowledge Village guidelines. (*will be given by the institute) Please note that the passport must have a minimum validity of 7 months at the time of applying the visa.
3. How does the visa process happen?
With the above documents, the residence visa is applied for the student and upon receipt of the Visa paper, a copy is scanned and sent by e-mail to the student. The Student may be required to produce his/her visa copy for purchase of ticket as well as in the Airport while boarding the flight. The original copy of the visa is deposited in the Airport at the counter and the student must pick up the original copy from there before getting out of the Airport. Subsequently , after the student joins the institute and submits his/her passport, we produce the Students Passport and the Original Visa copy in the Immigration office and the residence visa is stamped on the students passport. Upon Stamping on the Passport, the student is free to travel in and out of the country as and when he wants.
