Vidur Khurana, a 3 rd Year Mechanical student of BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus and UAE Vice-Chair of Student District Operation Board(Dist-J) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers was selected to participate in the Student Leadership Seminar(SLS) held by ASME in Dallas , Texas from 3 rd -6 th March 2011.
The Seminar was a comprehensive event where professionals, students that are vital parts of ASME came together to share knowledge, network, discuss future aspects and also receive training that is vital in managing District- wide organizations. The Leadership Meeting was attended by all the student representatives from all the student sections in the region of various countries such as Lebanon , Qatar , KSA, Egypt , Venezuela , Mexico , Colombia , U.K. etc. to receive training that would help them vitalize their student sections.
Vidur Khurana said, “I am the first student in the U.A.E. to be a part of the board and also responsible for all the student sections in U.A.E i.e BITS, American University of Sharjah, Khalifa, Petroleum Institute & U.A.E. university. Also it is my responsibility to introduce ASME to other universities and for student sections”.
A similar Leadership Seminar was held in October last year at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus which was the 1st ever ASME event to be held in U.A.E .
