The production techniques laboratory is located inside the Engineering Workshop premises, in an area of 15,000 square feet, having a covered shed of 7,000 square feet. The laboratory uses the common facilities available to the Workshop.
Apart from the general facilities like the Fitting shop, Sheet metal shop, Carpentry, Welding shop, Foundry, metrology, CNC and the general machine tools, the production laboratory is equipped with special purpose machine tools and metrology instruments.
The laboratory experiments trains the students to perform advanced specialized machining operations using the general purpose and specialized machine tools. The students fabricate models using the existing facilities to demonstrate their understanding on the subject.
